THANK goodness we can all relax now that there is no longer a mammoth container ship blocking the Suez Canal.

We can all breathe a sigh of relief that we won't have to go without our electronic gadgets, cosmetics, clothing, food and household goods.

There was even concern about Ikea flat packs (more than 20 per cent of the Swedish firm’s goods come from China) and sex toys - heaven forbid we have to live without either of those.

What alarmed me most was the almost total lack of concern for the thousands of live animals packed together on queueing ships in the baking heat. Their suffering was barely mentioned.

Live exports of animals, thousands of miles across the globe, for slaughter, are inhumane and should be stopped.
