POLICE are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured in a stabbing in Huddersfield.

Officers were called to reports of a fight in Catherine Road at about 4.45pm yesterday and found a 26-year-old man with serious injuries.

His injuries are not life threatening and he remains in hospital.

Kirklees District CID are investigating the incident, which is being treated as a targeted attack, and are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area at around the time stated to contact them.

The local neighbourhood policing team have increased patrols in the area to offer reassurance.
