BRADFORD radio station Pulse is set to desert it's home city and move to Leeds, it has been revealed.

The commercial music station, which first hit the airwaves in 1975, has been based in St James Business Park in Bradford city centre, but is now moving to Leeds.

It is believed to be taking over the former Radio Aire offices in Kirkstall Road after that station folded last summer.

Presenter Danny Mylo, who does the station's breakfast show, revealed the move to Leeds on Facebook, however some followers expressed their disappointment at the Bradford radio station upping sticks to Leeds.

One follower, Tony Moore, said: "Very disappointed and angry, Pulse radio has been in Bradford forever. Now you're moving to that dump."

Darren Ratcliffe added: "Abandoning Bradford, so disappointing."

Another, Matt Smith, said: "Glad that we've still got you both but sad that Pulse 1 is moving out of Bradford.

"I've been listening to Pulse 1 since it was Pennine at Pennine House."

Dawn Byrne added: "So disappointed you're not going to be in Bradford."

Pulse is owned by Bauer Media Group, which operates stations such as Kiss, Absolute Radio and Magic.

A spokesperson for Bauer said: "Following Pulse 1’s recent expansion onto DAB to cover the whole of West Yorkshire, the station is moving to a new broadcast centre in Leeds.

"The move will mean that the breakfast show team, as well those working in local news and commercial, can enjoy the best technology and facilities from the recently refurbished studio and offices.

"Formerly the home of Radio Aire, the Leeds studios are currently used as a broadcasting hub for Greatest Hits Radio West Yorkshire.

"The Breakfast team are moving to the new studios tomorrow, while other team members continue to work remotely.

"Pulse 1 will continue to have news and information covering Bradford and the local area."
