FOUR more deaths from Covid-19 have been recorded at hospitals in the Bradford district today.

The deaths take the total number of fatalities from Covid-19 in Bradford hospitals to 858, almost 12 months on from when lockdown began.

Of the new deaths, three were recorded at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and one was at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.

It takes the total number of deaths at Bradford Teaching Hospitals to 598 and at Airedale to 258. At Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, the death toll remains at two.

Nationally, a further 48 hospital deaths were recorded in England today, taking the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country's hospitals to 85,813.

Patients were aged 48 to 102 years old, and all patients had known underlying health conditions.

London saw the most deaths with 12, followed by 11 in the Midlands, seven in both the South East and North West, five in the East of England and two in the South West.

In Yorkshire and the North East Bradford and Airedale were the only trusts to report deaths in today's figures.

It means that in surrounding areas, the number of deaths at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust remains at 922, at Mid Yorkshire NHS trust it is 1,023 deaths, and at Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust the total is 492.
