SIR - I'm surprised no one has mentioned a key factor in our vaccination success. British GPs have probably the world's best patient records systems. They can call in individuals by age, by vulnerability etc. and exchange data with other health professionals. This has nothing to do with the government. GPs organise and pay for their own IT.

My doctor friend in the USA says there is a general announcement there and all the people in that age group then have to rush to a centre and queue for hours out in the open. People are being missed and others jabbed twice. It's wasteful chaos.
