OVER 24 tonnes of waste was removed from the West Royd estate in Shipley after a clean-up effort by Incommunities and Bradford Council.
It involved a wagon and two vans, while residents also assisted. A large amount of white goods were collected, including over 40 fridge freezers.
Cllr Sarah Ferriby, Portfolio Holder for Healthy People and Places, said: “This is a really positive initiative and it’s be great to partner with Incommunities and residents to help clean up the West Royd area. It’s fantastic that we’ve collected more than double our estimated 10 tonnes of rubbish and white goods from the estate, removing more than 24 tonnes of waste.”
People are encouraged to utilise Bradford Council’s bulky waste collection service, which can be booked via their website or by ringing 01274 431000.
