POLICE issued 15 fines to cars "making it dangerous" for other road users near two parks.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Calderdale Valleys Team were out on the roads near Shibden Park and Judy Woods over the weekend.
This came after complaints were made by residents about cars parking adjacent to double solid white lines.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Cars left in this position cause other vehicles to drive into the other side of the carriageway making it dangerous for other road users.
"Double solid white lines in a road are there to prevent overtaking where it is deemed dangerous.
"This is often the case on blind bends or on crests of hills."
Rule 240 of the Highway Code states that vehicles must not stop or park on a road marked with double white lines, even when a broken white line is on your side of the road.
You can stop briefly to pick up and let out passengers, or to load and unload goods.
The officers issued 15 vehicles with fixed penalty notices over the weekend in total for parking in this way.
The force spokesperson said: "Many other drivers who were with their vehicles at the time were given words of advice regarding the dangers of leaving their vehicle in such a position."
