FOUR suspects were tracked down with the help of a police helicopter in East Bierley at the weekend.

Team 3 NPT of the Batley & Spen force called out the National Police Air Service (NPAS) after men arrested as part of a fail to stop in the Hunsworth area escaped.

After abandoning their vehicle, the suspects made their way into nearby fields before being quickly surrounded by our officers.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "The males quickly tired themselves out running around in circles before eventually giving up with nowhere to go. (Despite the repeated claims of been able to "smoke" us at any time)."

The four were arrested for offences including taking a vehicle without the owner's - otherwise known as TWOKING, dangerous driving, assaulting a police officer, attempting damage to police vehicles and going equipped (carrying items used to commit vehicle crimes/burglaries).
