THERE is to be an increased police presence at St Ives after "increasing issues".
The Friends of St Ives Estate group said on Facebook that there had been an incident where "a young woman was intimidated and verbally abused by a group of men on off-road bikes".
They added: "As a result of this, and also reports from visitors of increasing issues on the estate (inconsiderate parking, little social distancing, littering and general unpleasant behavior), the Friends have been in discussions with Bradford Metropolitan District Council who have been very keen to try and resolve things.
"To help visitors to feel more comfortable visiting the estate, there will be an increased police presence around the estate, especially tomorrow (Saturday March 13).
"There will also be around six Welfare Covid Support Workers there too.
"They will be handing out free masks and advice literature and will be happy to chat with everyone and answer any Covid related questions you may have. We're very grateful to all these 'bodies' for their help in trying to make St Ives a good and pleasant place again for everyone to visit."
