POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a crash late yesterday afternoon in which two vehicles caught fire.

The accident happened at about 4.50pm at the junction of Hob Cote Lane and Denby Hill Road, Oakworth.

Three vehicles were involved – two Volkswagen Golfs, one silver and the other black, and a grey Ford Finesse.

A 20-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

The other drivers, both men in their 20s, suffered minor injuries and received hospital treatment.

Police are appealing for witnesses – and in particular the driver of a Ford Transit van believed to be in the area at the time – to come forward.

Anyone able to help – including with dashcam footage – should contact the police via 101 or online, quoting log number 1237 of 11 March.

Firefighters from Keighley, Bingley and Illingworth attended and gave first aid to the casualties before the arrival of paramedics.

The firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reels to tackle the burning vehicles.

Crews were at the scene for more than an hour.
