FOUR fines were issued for Covid rule breaches after a group of friends drove from Oldham to West Yorkshire for takeaway food, police reported this morning.
A car - which was also untaxed - was stopped by officers on the M62 at Huddersfield before it was discovered that the friends were from different households, and had travelled from Greater Manchester.
The car was also seized by police in the operation.
A tweet from West Yorkshire Police, published shortly after 3am today, reads:
M62 Huddersfield. If you come to West Yorkshire, from Oldham, with 3 mates from different households, for take away food, in an untaxed car, this is what happens. Vehicle seized and 4 Covid fines issued. #team5 #OpsRPU pic.twitter.com/aJNE7PFkYi
