- Buses resume operation in Holme Wood after 'vandalism'
- 'The parents are responsible ultimately for what the little brats do' - Councillor hits out at bus vandals
BUS services to the Holme Wood estate have been stopped today following another spate of vandalism.
Three services have been cut down with the 617 and 618 terminating at Dudley Hill roundabout and the 608 ending at Broadstone Way/Lymington Drive.
It follows similar incidents just over a mile away in Bierley and warnings from First that it is "endangering" both the drivers and customers.

Due to vandalism 617, 618, and 608 services will not be able to serve Holmewood estate.
617 and 618 will terminate at Dudley Hill roundabout.
608 will terminate at Broadstone Way/Lymington Drive.
Last week children smashed a bus window and threw stones as the driver pulled into Burnham Avenue.
There was a single passenger on board and fortunately no one was injured.
But following the incident, the bus company issued a statement to condemn the crime.
A spokesperson for First Bradford said: “This mindless vandalism is endangering our drivers and customers and disrupting the lives of local people in the communities we serve, especially at this time when we are focused on ensuring key workers and anyone making essential journeys can travel when they need to.
“The safety of staff and customers is our highest priority and will work closely with the police to investigate these incidents including the use of on board CCTV to help identify the individuals involved.”
It's been a long running issue for the Bradford South area with Matt Edwards, a community campaigner for the Tong ward, previously describing how people in Holme Wood and Bierley are “absolutely fed up with the level of criminal activity on the estates over the last few months”.
In response to the rise in anti-social behaviour, West Yorkshire Police deployed officers on so-called 'Trojan' buses.
While Councillor Alan Wainwright (Labour, Tong) said youth workers have been sent out into the worst-affected areas as police gather a number of names on their list.
