A FURTHER five Covid-19 deaths have been reported today in hospitals in the Bradford district.
These five new deaths take the total number of people who have died with Covid-19 in the district's hospitals to 837.
Four of the deaths occurred at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with the fifth patient dying at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.
Bradford Teaching Hospitals has now recorded 579 deaths from Covid-19, with Airedale reporting 256. The number of deaths at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust remains at two.
Nationally, a further 185 Covid-19 deaths were reported today, taking the total number of hospital Covid deaths in England to 84,276.
Patients whose deaths were recorded today were aged between 42 and 96 years old, and all except six, who were aged between 54 and 84, had known underlying health conditions.
Yorkshire and the North East saw 25 of these deaths, the fourth highest number behind the South West (36), South East (33) and the Midlands (30).
Elsewhere in West Yorkshire, Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust has now seen 992 deaths, the worst hit Trust in the county, while Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has seen 894 fatalities. Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 487 patient deaths from Covid-19.
