PLANS to covert a former bar in the "top of town" area of Bradford city centre have been submitted to Bradford Council.

10 North Parade was home to popular venue Al's Dime Bar until the bar moved to a new location on Darley Street in late 2018.

The unit has been empty since.

A new planning application by Nazir Hussain would see the ground floor of the unit converted into a shop, while the first floor would become a two bed flat.

The application says work on the conversion started earlier this year.

Could work to Bradford's 'top of town' lead to new green space?

The unit was built in the 1860s as a terraced house.

The application says: "The proposal is to retain all the existing frontage features of the Building and to bring an a vacant building back into use to provide additional much needed two bedroom first floor living accommodation together with providing a retail shop unit to the ground floor."

A decision on the application is expected in April.
