A CARAVAN covered in graffiti has been abandoned on a patch of grass in Shipley.
The two wheeled vehicle has been dumped on the grass close opposite Northcliffe Golf Club on High Bank Lane known as the Top of the World which overlooks Saltaire.
Someone has 'artistically' sprayed 'Mic Check' colourfully on the side of the caravan covering the windows.
Councillor Kevin Warnes (Green Party, Shipley) said: "It is unusual and something we need to pay close attention too because these areas of open public land, the scenic viewpoint at the top of that hill, is valued by local people.
"In lockdown, lots of local people have been walking around that area and in the woods just beneath where the caravan is. I have been there myself with my family.
"We cannot allow people like this just to park up and undermine the quality of life of everybody else.
"Bottom line is it needs to be removed as soon as possible because it is an eyesore, and it is blocking one of the nicest views in the whole of the Shipley ward."
Asked if this is becoming a problem in the area, he added: "Not in general.
"In the past, we have had incidents where groups of travellers have parked up on land but that gets dealt with really quickly."
