DETECTIVES are appealing for information after two men were assaulted in an incident in Leeds yesterday.

At 2.23pm, officers were called to Smalewell Road, Pudsey, where an 18-year-old man was found with a laceration to his face.

A 19-year-old man who was with him had also been assaulted, but was less seriously injured.

Both victims were treated at hospital and later discharged.

Police have described the suspects as a "group of five to six youths" and said the incident occurred on a grassed area at the end of a public footpath along Smalewell Road.

The youths cycled off from the scene.

A 15-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody. Enquiries are ongoing to identify other suspects, police say.
