A BRADFORD boy has been shortlisted for a national competition to mark World Book Day on March 4.
Bargain Max has now announced the final 10 shortlisted entries, including one from Bradford.
Amy from Bradford entered her son Seth’s, aged five, creation of Elmer the Elephant using different types of craft materials.
The competition asked children across the UK to create a heroic fictitious character from their favourite book using arts and crafts materials found at home.
A number of entries from all across the UK were submitted, with parents entering their children’s homemade creations via Facebook and Instagram.
The overall winners will be announced this Friday. The first prize is a Bargain Max gift voucher worth £100, while second place will receive a £50 Bargain Max voucher, and third place will receive a toy bundle of choice up to the value of £25, fourth and fifth place will receive a £10 Bargain Max voucher.
A Bargain Max spokesman said: “We have been overwhelmed by the quality of entries into our national competition, there have been some amazing entries.
"Thank you to everyone who entered, we really enjoyed seeing your book inspired creations. We hope this has got children excited for World Book Day and that it brought families a bit of fun through this lockdown.”
