WORK has been continuing at Greengates junction over the past fortnight to install the multi-million pound improvements.

A new P-loop system is being put in at the junction of Harrogate Road and New Line, and major works have now been ongoing for a number of months.

Howard Civil Engineering and Bradford Council are running the works, and while they thank the vast majority of motorists for their patience during the roadworks, have again raised concerns about the small minority causing problems for others.

Some drivers continue to make dangerous manoeuvres, putting other road users at risk, and anyone who witnesses these incidents is asked to report it to police.

There was also the report of people moving cones and signs, which resulted in a pedestrian being injured recently, and people are reminded that tampering with traffic management is illegal.

In the past two weeks a whole host of work as taken place, including ongoing Yorkshire Water work and Northern Powergrid beginning.

The retaining wall by Farmfoods has been fully rebuilt and the starter layer for the new road and pavement in New Line has been laid.

Work as also continued at New Line Retail Park to extend an existing wall and create more parking spaces, and by the KFC restaurant new traffic signal ducts have been installed on the footpath.

In the next two weeks, Yorkshire Water will install new mains along New Line, and road construction will continue once this is done.

Also taking place will be reinstatement of the footpath by Farmfoods, in the P-loop a filter drain system is being installed to remove saturated material and protect construction material in the future.
