A BRADFORD doctor has reassured people that there is no evidence that pets can pass Covid to humans.
Doctor Amir Khan says people should not be worried about any transmission of the virus between pets to owners.
He added it is more likely the other way round but only resulting in very mild symptoms for animals.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain today, Dr Khan, who celebrates his 40th birthday today, said: “Pets can get covid particularly cats and ferrets, what is really important to state is that there is no evidence pets and animals can pass covid to humans, it’s the other way round.
“You could pass it to other animals.
“You must not worry about catching it from your pets.
“The evidence around suggests they only get very, very mild symptoms. I don’t think we need to worry about it.
“A lot of people watching this will be worried, but my advice is try not to be, mild symptoms in pets only and you can’t get it from them.”
Meanwhile, Doctor Khan says it is good news that infection rates are down by two thirds in then latest round of research.
He also urged people to get vaccinated.
