A MEDICAL chief in Bradford says there is no evidence to suggest having the Covid vaccine will affect anyone’s fertility.
Dr Virginia Beckett, Clinical Lead for Reproductive Medicine at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has recorded this video to reassure couples who are looking to have children in the future.
She also dismissed social media rumours that the Covid vaccines cause infertility problems for people.

Dr Beckett said: “There’s quite a lot on social media, and a bit of misinformation about the effect of the vaccine on chance of conceiving, even going as far as saying it will sterilise you.
“That’s not biologically possible.
“I would really urge you to have the vaccine.
“No evidence to suggest there is an effect on fertility.
“We know as a matter of fact that Covid is dangerous for pregnant women. Particularly in case of the new variants coming through.
“Nine per cent of all intensive care patients in the UK are pregnant or just delivered. That has significant implications for that woman and her family.
“If you’re trying to conceive, I would urge you to accept any offer of a vaccine as soon as possible so to protect you during your pregnancy.”
