A DRUG dealer caught with drugs stashed between his buttocks has been jailed along with another man.

Mikaeel Sher, 23, and Colin Ver, 22, were first spotted by police officers in a Volkswagen Golf in Manningham – Sher was driving and Ver was the passenger in the car. A drug deal involving the pair was later seen taking place via the passenger window of the car.

They were later stopped by police in North Avenue, Bradford, and both men and their car were searched.

Officers found an iPhone and £340 cash on Ver and drugs which he hid between his buttocks.

A total of 50 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin were found, alongside £101 of loose coins in the car. Sher had £53 in cash on him.

Two mobile phones belonging to Sher and Ver were recovered, with calls on them which were later discovered to be from numbers from phone boxes.

Andrew Petterson, prosecuting, said the mobile phones were used as a drugs line, where people would contact Sher and Ver to meet up and deliver them drugs in their car.

Mr Petterson said the police tracked them over an 11-day period in February 2018 and they were found with significant quantities of drugs and cash on them, Bradford Crown Court heard on Monday.

Stephen Uttley, mitigating for Sher, says Sher, of Hanover Square, Bradford, claimed he was dealing drugs for petrol money. He added Sher is genuinely remorseful for his actions.

Lydia Pearce, mitigating for Ver, of Dudley Hill Road, Eccleshill, said he was motivated to change and has gained steady employment since the incident and he himself has been free from drugs for six months. She added; ‘He can demonstrate he can change’.

They were jailed for two counts of supplying class A drugs, heroin and crack cocaine, which they had earlier pleaded guilty to.

Sher was jailed for two-and-a-half years (30 months) and Ver was jailed for two years and eight months (32 months) for the two offences, both to be served concurrently. They will both be released on licence halfway through their sentences, to serve the second half of their terms in the community.

Judge Andrew Hatton told Sher and Ver: “The supply of class A drugs causes untold misery to many; to users, to their families who must watch their steady decline.

“Drug dealers make very significant amounts of money from selling drugs and have teams of workers performing different roles.

“You were going around Bradford dealing crack cocaine. Ver secreted 40 wraps of crack about your person.

“There was significant contact made from drug users from phone boxes to the drug line for the request of drugs to be made and Sher and Ver would turn up and sell them drugs, peddling misery on the streets of Bradford.”

Sentencing, Judge Hatton added: “This is street dealing. You each performed a significant role.

“Sher pleaded guilty on the basis of doing it for petrol money. I don’t accept that for one moment. Even if that is the basis of doing it, it does not absolve you of your responsibility.

“You were in it for financial benefit of some sort and peddling it on the streets of Bradford.”
