POLICE in Bradford have moved to quash social media rumours that they were dishing out Covid-19 fines at a popular spot this weekend.

Officers from Bradford South and Calderdale Valleys Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPT) were at Judy Woods on Saturday and Sunday morning, which was busy with walkers, families and cyclists.

The Bradford South NPT said: "Lots of people were spoken with and advised regarding safe and legal parking to ensure all road users remains safe along Station Road. Officers were present to offer advice to anyone who needed it regarding all matters community and policing.

"It has come to officers' attention that a rumour spread on social media that officers were there fining people regarding Covid-19. This was not the case, and those who spoke with officers knew this.

"If you see police out in your community, please feel free to come speak with us. We are always happy to chat, and give advice, and take feedback where possible. Your Neighbourhood Policing Teams are here to listen to community concerns and where possible and proportionate, act on them."
