THERE have been two further Covid-19 related deaths recorded in Bradford hospitals today, according to the latest NHS figures.

The news bring the total number of such deaths at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to 553.

Airedale General Hospital has recorded 242 deaths to date, while Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust has recorded two.

The total in the district has now reached 797 over the course of the pandemic.

The two deaths announced today occurred on February 11.

The figures released today by NHS England state a further 436 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died since figures were updated yesterday.

Numbers do not take into account deaths occurring outside hospital settings.

Of today's figures, patients were aged between 21 and 100 and all except 10, aged 49 to 89, had known underlying health conditions.

Their families have been informed.

The number of deaths of patients with Covid-19 by region highlighted in today's figures are as follows:

East of England - 61

London - 69

Midlands - 96

North East & Yorkshire - 55

North West - 56

South East – 79

South West - 20

The figures are updated at 2pm each day and include confirmed death cases reported at 4pm the previous day.

NHS England says: "Confirmation of Covid-19 diagnosis, death notification, death certificates and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure.

"This means that the totals reported at 4pm on each day may not include all deaths that occurred on that day or on recent prior days."
