A BRADFORD man has been charged with robbery after a pharmacy worker was allegedly punched in the face and threatened with a knife
The Bradford District Crime Team have charged Abdul Ghaffar, 45, of Archibald Street, Bradford, with robbery offences and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
The incident occurred last Wednesday, when a suspect approached the female victim outside a pharmacy on City Road, in Bradford, where she worked.
The suspect said he needed some medication but she refused as the premises was closed. It is alleged that an assault than took place and that a knife was produced.
The victim's car keys were then stolen along with the keys to the pharmacy and the car was driven away from the scene.
The victim suffered injuries to her cheek, nose and hands during the alleged assault.
Ghaffar appeared at Bradford Magistrates Court yesterday and will appear again on 10 March.
