THERE remains a police presence in Greengates today, after officers were called out to reports of a woman "in distress" yesterday evening.

Rimswell Holt had been temporarily closed, from Roundwood Glen to Rookwith Parade, it had been reported - although at the time it was unclear why.

This afternoon, West Yorkshire Police said officers and ambulance staff attended nearby Redcar Road, where a woman was later taken to hospital to be assessed.

Enquiries are ongoing, police say, as a cordon remains in place at an address in the area.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 5.33pm on 9 February to reports of a female in distress on Redcar Road, Bradford.

"Officers and ambulance staff attended and the woman was taken to hospital to be assessed.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and there is a police cordon currently at an address nearby.

"Anyone who was in the area, witnessed anything suspicious or has any further information, is asked to contact the police via 101, quoting log number 1254 of 9 February.

"Information can also be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
