SIX vans were set on fire in an arson attack last night and police are now appealing for anyone with information to get in touch. 

It happened at a works unit, off Whitehall Road, Cleckheaton. 

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Kirklees Police are investigating the incident in which six vans were set on fire between 10.15 and 10.44pm.

"Enquiries have been ongoing at the scene today and anyone who has information about the incident is asked to contact Kirklees District Police on 101 referencing crime number 13210065545.

"Information can also be given anonymously to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111."

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters were called to the scene at around 10.30pm, to reports of a fire in the open.

They said: "Two fire engines attended – one each from Cleckheaton and Odsal fire stations – and found multiple vehicles on fire.

"Crews extinguished the fire and left at 11.50pm."
