A POLICE cordon has been in place on a major Bradford road today.
The police presence was centred on the Post Office, on Sticker Lane, opposite the Dunelm Mill store, throughout the afternoon.
The tape was lifted at around 6pm.
One Telegraph & Argus reader said he heard shouting and looked out of the window to see males running up and down.
He said: "I could see there was something happening near the shop, people were screaming, shouting."
He said he then saw an elderly gentleman "covered in blood".
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "We are investigating an assault on Sticker Lane at 1.29pm this afternoon.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
