HERE are the Bradford areas with the best and worst Covid-19 infection rates, according to the latest figures.

The data, from the Government's Covid dashboard, reveals how quickly the virus is spreading in each area.

In the seven days to January 31, the most up to date figures available, Bradford district's infection rate was 248.8 infections per 100,000 people, higher than the UK national average of 240.2.

It is also considerably higher than the Yorkshire and Humber average of 201.7, and the highest rate in West Yorkshire.

However, some parts of the district are faring a lot better than others at the moment. 

Broken down by Middle Super Output Area, a hyper-local method of breaking down statistics to areas with populations of 7,200 people, the figures show which parts of the city are doing well at controlling Covid-19, while others are not doing as well.

The five Bradford areas with the highest Covid-19 infection rates are:

  1.  Horton Bank - 552.9 infections per 100,000 people
  2. Chellow Heights - 453.8
  3. Canterbury - 449.3
  4. Toller Lane & Infirmary - 439.8
  5. Low Moor - 395.3

 

The five Bradford areas with the lowest Covid-19 infection rates are:

  1. Haworth & Oxenhope - 70.6 infections per 100,000 people
  2. Cottingley, Harden & Wildsen - 78.0
  3. Eccleshill - 99.5
  4. Saltaire & Baildon West - 101.9
  5. Burley-in-Wharfedale - 119.3
