BRADFORD City's Community Foundation will support Children's Mental Health Week by providing over 40 children across the district with free footballs.

The pledge will see each player within the club's Football Development Programme's under-9s to under-14s age categories receive a free football.

Place2Be's Children's Mental Health Week launched in 2015, and this year runs from Monday to this Sunday. Now in its seventh year, the campaign aims to shine a spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health.

Adam Fox, head of the Football Development Programme, said: "This is fantastic for our players, and will help them keep active and engaged throughout this lockdown."

Qasim Akhtar, Bradford City Community Foundation's business development officer, added: "Supporting children in the community is ultimately our main aim, and so we are pleased to be able to help people in any small way we can."
