COUNCILLORS have suggested a car park at a city leisure site could be used as parking for local residents.
Myra Shay Playing Fields is based on Barkerend Road - an inner city area of Bradford where parking is at a premium.
The site has a car park for people who use the facility - and at a meeting of Bradford Council's Bradford East Area Committee on Thursday evening, members asked if the car park could be opened up to residents overnight when the site is not being used to help ease parking issues.
Highways officers said they would look into the issue.
The issue was raised when the committee were discussing plans to install a blue badge parking bay on Curzon Road.
Three people had objected to that plan, saying there was already limited on street parking in the area.
The Committee approved the parking bay.

But Councillor Riaz Ahmed (Lib Dem, Bradford Moor) raised the issue of parking pressure in the area, saying: "Could Myra Shay be used by residents for parking?
"Parking is a big problem in this neck of the woods."
Councillor Zafar Iqbal (Lab, Bradford Moor) added: "Could we have a trial run? It would be ideal to trial it in the Summer when the evenings are lighter."
Highways engineer Andrew Smith said the Highways department would look at the suggestion further.
