PEOPLE in Bradford are being urged to "stick to the rules" following the news that cases of the South African strain of Covid-19 have been found in Yorkshire.
Two cases have been recorded in the Scarborough area and are linked to international travel. Officials believe there is no community risk at this time.
While there are no cases in the Bradford district at the moment, Sarah Muckle, Bradford Council’s Director of Public Health, said: “It is really important that we all stick to the rules currently in place.
"This means staying home except where it is necessary, avoiding contact with other households, washing hands, wearing face coverings when out of the home and keeping at least 2 metres from other people.
"Only by sticking to these rules can we best protect ourselves and the district from Covid-19, including the South African variant.”
