EIGHT further Covid-19-related hospital deaths have been reported in the Bradford district today, according to the latest NHS figures.

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust reported eight, while Airedale NHS Foundation Trust did not report any deaths.

Five deaths at Bradford were reported on Sunday, January 31, and three deaths were reported on Saturday, January 30.

It means that the total number of hospital deaths in the district, according to NHS England figures, now stands at 761 - 530 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals, 229 at Airedale and two at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Elsewhere in West Yorkshire, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust reported one death and Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust reported no deaths.

Nationally, a further 356 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 72,145.

Patients were aged between 22 and 103 years old. All except 20 (aged 50 to 96 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from May 18, 2020 to January 31, 2021 with the majority being on or after January 27.
