A FATHER and his young daughter have been cheering people up online throughout the pandemic by singing songs online.

Russ Petcher and his daughter, Daisy, aged three, have been taking requests and posting personalised messages and songs for people since March last year.

The pair from Cleckheaton have proved a global hit online receiving request and presents from as far afield as Tokyo and Australia.

Their 90-second clips feature them singing a host of hits from artists including The Jam and Adam and the Ants.

Russ, 45, who plays the ukulele in the videos, said: “We just want to make people smile during lockdown.

“We have posted two or three videos every week since last March.

“At first it was just us singing Happy Birthday but the requests soon came flooding in from all over the world. It just grew from there.

“We have been featured in magazines in America and have even been sent free stuff to try out, our latest freebie being a bamboo ukulele.

“Our Facebook page now has almost 1,500 followers.

“We recently posted a sea Shanty which is attracting a lot of attention.”

Their videos can be seen on their Facebook page, Uke Dad.
