A FURTHER two Covid-19-related hospital deaths were reported in the Bradford district today.

According to the latest NHS figures, Airedale NHS Foundation Trust reported one death, while Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust reported one death.

The one death at Bradford was reported on Sunday, January 17, while the death at Airedale was reported on Wednesday, January 27.

It means that the total number of hospital deaths in the district, according to NHS England figures, now stands at 744 - 518 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals, 224 at Airedale and two at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Elsewhere in West Yorkshire, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust reported two deaths, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust reported one death and Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust reported 10 deaths.

Nationally, a further 744 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 70,545 Patients were aged between 24 and 101 years old. All except 26 (aged 24 to 96 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from December 4, 2020 to January 28, 2021 with the majority being on or after January 23.

Their families have been informed.

The figures are updated at 2pm each day and include confirmed death cases reported at 4pm the previous day.

NHS England says: "Confirmation of Covid-19 diagnosis, death notification, death certificates and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure.

"This means that the totals reported at 4pm on each day may not include all deaths that occurred on that day or on recent prior days."
