BRADFORD has seen another week-on-week rise in it's Covid-19 infection rate, according to the latest figures for every local authority area in England.

The figures, for the seven days to January 22, are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two).

The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.

In the seven days to January 15, Bradford's infection rate was 271.8, with 1,467 new cases. In the seven days to January 22, it rose to 307.2, with 1,658 new cases.

It is 194th place in the country for numbers of new cases, but has seen one of the country's highest week-on-week rises.

Bradford has the highest rate in West Yorkshire
