Skipton man arrested for terrorism offences after 'suspicious items' found
A SKIPTON man has been arrested on terrorism offences.
Last Wednesday officers from North Yorkshire Police arrested a 62-year-old man from Skipton for offences under the Sexual Offences Act and the Explosives Act.
Following the discovery of potentially suspicious items at two properties in North Yorkshire, one of which is in Skipton, the man was further arrested on Friday for offences under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act by Counter Terrorism Policing North East.
He remains in custody at this time and searches of two residential properties are ongoing.
