THESE are the Bradford areas with the best and worst Covid-19 infection rates over the past week.

The infection rate in the district has begun to fall after peaking in early January.

In the seven days to January 17, the most up to date reliable figures, the infection rate in Bradford was 273.8 infections per 100,000 people.

This rate is well below the national average of 472.9, but is higher than the Yorkshire & Humber average of 255.9.

While the average in Bradford is 273.8, some areas have rates that are much higher and others have a much lower rate, as the virus spreads at different rates in different parts of the district.

The five areas with the WORST infection rates in the district are:

  1. Manningham & Lister Park - 619.1 infections per 100,000 people
  2. Toller Lane & Infirmary - 544.9
  3. Chellow Heights - 489.6
  4. Thornton - 424
  5. Bingley Town - 416

 

The five areas with the BEST infection rates in the district are: 

  1. Burley-in-Wharfedale - 51.1 infections per 100,000 people
  2. Baildon North - 79.3
  3. Ilkley & Ben Rhydding - 100.3
  4. Wrose & Bolton Woods - 105.2
  5. Shearbridge & University - 119.2
