BRADFORD schoolboy Mason Sutcliffe won viewers’ hearts in TV hit Gentleman Jack, and now he’s returning in the new series.

Mason, 13, of Woodside plays Alf Sowden Sally Wainwright’s drama about Halifax landowner Anne Lister. The show’s global success led to a second series and Mason is back as Alf.

“His character is part of the Sowden family, which was central to the whole murder conspiracy in series one, so it’s going to be interesting to see how this storyline pans out,” said Matt Zina, principal of Bradford-based Matt Zina Acting, formerly the Yorkshire School of Acting, which Mason attends. “Mason has an incredible raw talent and performs with a lot of truth. He’s one to watch, we will be working with him to develop his acting and forge an exciting career.”

Mason, a pupil at Appleton Academy, is working with a star-studded cast including Suranne Jones, Sophie Rundle andTimothy West. Scenes for the new series were shot in Bingley last year.

Matt recently re-branded his acting school, which has clients from around the world. Matt has developed a pioneering brand of acting training, which includes mindset techniques, business and marketing skills as well as his ‘Trinity Acting Method’ specialist process.
