ONE further Covid-19-related hospital death has been reported in the Bradford district today, according to the latest NHS figures.

The death, on January 20, was reported at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, meaning there were no new deaths reported by Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

It means the total number of hospital deaths in the Bradford district, according to NHS figures, now stands at 710 - 500 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals; 208 at Airedale and two at the Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Elsewhere in West Yorkshire, Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, which includes Pinderfields, reported eight deaths, while Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust reported five deaths.

Nationally, a further 789 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 64,111.

Patients were aged between eight and 111 years old. All except twenty-eight (aged 25 to 97 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from October 20, 2020 to January 20, 2021 with the majority being on or after January 17.

The figures are updated at 2pm each day and include confirmed death cases reported at 4pm the previous day.

NHS England says: "Confirmation of Covid-19 diagnosis, death notification, death certificates and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure.

"This means that the totals reported at 4pm on each day may not include all deaths that occurred on that day or on recent prior days."
