A FLOOD warning for the River Aire has been issued at Shipley as Storm Christoph continues to have an impact in the district.
The Environment Agency put the flood warning in place for Shipley including east of Hurst Mill extending through Roberts Park at Saltaire towards Baildon Bridge.
This also includes the Charlestown area from Dockfield Road as far as Buck Mill Bridge.
The warning says immediate action is required.
Rivers levels across the River Aire catchment have risen as a result of the persistent rainfall associated with Storm Christoph.
Levels at Cottingley have continued to rise and are expected to peak in the next few hours, but will remain high for the rest of today.
Flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected.
Areas most at risk are Baildon Road. The Environment Agency’s incident response staff are checking defences and are monitoring the forecast.
Residents of affected areas have been urged to move possessions and valuables off the ground.
Bradford Council chief executive Kersten England tweeted Storm Christoph 'remains challenging' across the district:
#StormChristophe retreating but conditions remain challenging across our District. Monitoring River Aire closely. Warnings in force and @WYFRSBfdTeam + @bradfordmdc supporting residents. Please take care, don’t drive through flood water. #StaySafe #floodaware #teamBradford
