A PEDESTRIAN in his 20s has been rushed to hospital after a crash that has closed a major Bradford road this morning.

West Yorkshire Police was called to reports of a serious road traffic collision on Little Horton Lane, at around 7.06am this morning.

The crash was between the road's junctions with Park Lane and Todwell Lane. 

A silver Hyundai was travelling along Little Horton Lane and there was a collision with a male pedestrian.

The man, in his 20s, was rushed to hospital by the ambulance service with serious injuries.

The car had a dint in the bonnet.

Police officers have put a road closure in place, both ways between Park Lane and Todwell Lane.

This is causing heavy traffic in the area.

The closure is also affecting some bus services.

First West Yorkshire posted on Twitter to say its 640 and 641 services are being impacted by the accident.

Both buses are being diverted in both directions via Horton Park Avenue and Canterbury Avenue until further notice.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the crash.
