THE Telegraph and Argus is looking for nominations so we can crown the Bradford district's Best Curry Takeaway 2021.

We want you to nominate your favourite curry takeaway, whether it is because of their wide range of curries, perfectly cooked sundries or their friendly welcome.

If it for any of these reasons or any other, Lauren Wood, marketing executive at the T&A, stressed the importance of applauding these businesses who have such an important role during the Covid-19 pandemic which has gripped the country since March of last year.

"Nearly every curry takeaway has been open for the last year," said Lauren. "Most of them have not shut because of the pandemic and the influx of takeaway orders has gone through the roof.

"So it's good to highlight them and give them some recognition for working so hard."

Lauren went on to explain the "important role" that having a curry can have on people's weekends.

"It's nice to have a treat at the weekend and there are some amazing restaurants and takeaways out there.

"Food is an escape for some people. It helps them with their mental wellbeing.

"And having a takeaway is good unwinding family on a Friday or Saturday night."

Lauren also spoke about Bradford's fantastic reputation for good curries.

She said: "We're known as the curry capital because of the quality of our curries. We're one of the best in the country.

"Takeaways in Bradford are high quality. If you think you know the best takeaway, it's worth applauding them.

"I think everyone has a favourite takeaway.

"People are passionate and precious about their curries.

"They stick to what they know," she added.
