We may be biased, but we think Bradford is a fantastic place to live.

Here are just some of the reasons why:

It’s home to some affordable properties

Bradford is renowned for its affordable properties, making it the ideal destination for first time buyers or couples on a budget.

As it stands, one of the cheapest homes for sale in Bradford is just £50,000.

The two bedroom house on Crossley Street and could be a great investment home after some refurbishment.

…  but also some dream homes

Affordable homes aren’t the only properties in Bradford.

The city also boasts a variety of ‘dream’ properties, such as this £895,000 mansion.

The house has eight bedrooms and stunning interiors- would you consider living here?

It’s not as busy as Leeds

If you aren’t a fan of bustling city life but still want to live somewhere that’s relatively close to all the action, then Bradford is a great option.

Leeds is just a thirty minute drive from Bradford, meaning you can visit it for a day trip before returning home to your less-hectic home city.

There is plenty to do

One thing is for certain: you will never have a boring day in Bradford.

For a day filled with education, a trip to the Bradford Industrial Museum or the National Science and Media Museum should be on the cards.

Bradford is also home to some historic and cultural buildings, such as Bolling Hall and Bradford City Hall, each with their own stories and unique place in history.

For a spot of shopping, Forster Square Retail Park is the place to visit as it contains every shop you could need.

There are some ‘outstanding’ schools in Bradford

According to the Government website, 153 Bradford primary and secondary schools received an ‘outstanding’ or ‘good’ rating from Ofsted (between 2016-2020).

Some of the ‘outstanding’ schools include Barkerend Primary Leadership Academy in Pollard Park and Feversham Primary Academy on Harewood Street.

The Ilkley Moors are just around the corner

Despite being known as quite an industrial town, there are some really beautiful areas in Bradford.

Lister Park and Peel Park are just some attractive outdoor areas in Bradford.

However, if you want a day out in nature where you can embark on a long hike, locals have the option of heading 30 minutes down the road to Ilkley Moor.

The beauty of the landscape speaks for itself.

The transport system is constantly improving

Bradford is especially good for cyclists as there are plenty of designated routes and paths for them to take.

Thanks to the Government’s Emergency Active Travel fund, 15.5km of segregated cycle lanes have been created across West Yorkshire.

It’s also hoped that Bradford could get a high speed rail investment which links Bradford to Leeds and Manchester; but discussions for this submission will be approved or denied at a later date.

You’re guaranteed to get a delicious curry

Bradford has developed a reputation for producing some of the finest Asian foods in the country.

It was even named Curry Capital of Britain six times in a row.

Some award winning restaurants in the city include Akbars and EastZEast.
