BRADFORD is the sixth quickest city in the UK where people complete DIY tasks in the quickest time, according to a survey.

Here it takes an average assembly time of one hour and 23 minutes, 45 per cent quicker than the estimated assembly time.

MyJobQuote.co.uk wanted to find out which UK cities are expected to struggle with DIY over the coming months.

In order to do so 2,114 participants from across the UK were sent a set of chest of draws to assemble, estimated by experts at MyJobQuote.co.uk, to take approximately two hours and a half (150 minutes) to assemble.

While completing the task, participants were asked to time themselves and record their heart rate, revealing both efficiency and stress levels. MyJobQuote.co.uk can confirm that Leeds is the city quickest at DIY, with an average assembly time of one hour 14 minutes, under half the time it took Birmingham.

Bristol stands as the second quickest UK city with an average assembly time of one hour 16 minutes, 49 per cent quicker than the estimated assembly time.

Following closely behind are Glasgow and London, respectively being an average of 47 per cent and 46 per cent faster than estimated.

Meanwhile, Birmingham is the city slowest at DIY, with an average assembly times of three hours 46 minutes, over double the estimated assembly time.

Edinburgh ranks as the second slowest UK city with an average assembly time of three hours 45 minutes, 50 per cent longer than estimated.

Following closely behind are Belfast and Leicester both taking an average of three hours 44 minutes to set up the designated item.
