A PUDSEY-based firm has received a business boost from retail entrepreneur Theo Paphitis.

Last week, James Denton owner of AME Accounting & Co tweeted Paphitis about his business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and was one of six weekly winners to gain a retweet by him to his 500,000 Twitter followers.

The weekly initiative, set up by Paphitis in 2010, now has more than 2,500 #SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK.

Following the retweet, www.ameaccountingandco.com has doubled its following and doubled enquires for the service.

It is now also profiled on the #SBS website, which is exclusive to all Small Business Sunday winners.

Mr Denton said: “We’ve only been in business for a few months having built a small portfolio of clients from previous experience.

“It is great to have support from Theo because it’s been tough trying to raise our profile and Theo has recognised our hard work and helped spread the word about what we do to his following.”

Paphitis, a small business champion and chairman of Ryman Stationery, Robert Dyas and Boux Avenue, said: “I admire people who have passion and energy.

“If you cannot bore your friends to death about your own small business then something is seriously wrong.

“I was struck by the number of business owners on Twitter who wanted to tell me about their new products and services. Small Business Sunday was born so that people have a specific time slot to tweet and can pitch their ‘sell’ directly to me.

“We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.

“My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings.

“The website will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish AME Accounting & Co every success.”

Anyone looking for a re‐tweet from Paphitis should tweet him about their business on a Sunday between 5pm and 7.30pm and include the hashtag #SBS.

Six businesses are then re‐tweeted every Monday at 8pm and are invited to enter their profile on the new website, attend the annual #SBS networking event.
