ASDA said a visit from local authorities to one of its Bradford stores this weekend found it was "following all of the necessary safety measures".

The supermarket responded after a Telegraph & Argus reader got in touch to raise concern about Covid measures in the Rooley Lane store following a visit on Saturday afternoon.

She claimed there was a lack of social distancing and one-way system and also raised concern about the numbers of people in the store.

But Asda said local authorities visited on Saturday and were "satisfied" with what they found.

In response, an Asda spokesperson said: "We have extensive measures in place across all of our stores such as covid-marshals, protective screens, social distancing signage and numerous hand sanitiser stations.

"Our customers can rest assured that we continue to follow all government guidance as we have since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

"We are pleased that the local authorities who also visited the store on Saturday were satisfied that the store was following all of the necessary safety measures.’’
