A MAN was rescued from a flat fire in the Little Horton area of Bradford on Thursday night.
Bradford Fire Station crew commander Nathan Walker said four firefighters in breathing apparatus took the man, who was trapped in an upstairs bedroom, to safety in the blaze which took place at 7.15pm in the flat on Little Horton Lane.
Crew Commander Walker said that the firefighters took 20 minutes to put out a fire in a first floor bedroom of the converted house.
He said the bedroom "was well involved in fire" and once smoke had been cleared they were able to lead the man to safety.
The blaze began when a wardrobe caught fire, although he said the cause had yet to be determined.
Fire investigators and the West Yorkshire Police are investigating the incident.
Two crews from Bradford Fire Station and one Odsal Fire Station attended the scene.
