A COMPLAINT is being assessed after a video emerged appearing to show a police officer’s foul-mouthed tirade.

A video of the incident, which police believe occurred in Bradford, was being shared on Facebook, in which there appears to be an exchange between the officer and the person filming, before he asks: “What’s with the attitude?”

The person filming appears to ask the officer to get out of his face, to which he replies: “Shut up you little s***. Don’t f****** speak to me like that, who do you think you are, you little b******.”

He goes on to tell him to “learn some f****** respect”, before branding him a “little s***head” and telling him to “go on, f*** off”.

Detective Superintendent Richard Crinnion, of West Yorkshire Police’s Professional Standards Directorate, said: “We are aware of a video that had been circulating on social media which we believe shows an interaction between a member of the public and an officer from this Force on Tuesday, January 12.

“We can confirm that enquiries into the exact nature of the incident are being carried out and that a public complaint has also been received in relation to it. This complaint is in the process of being assessed and we will be speaking to the complainant and dealing with the matter in line with the Police Reform Act, 2002.

“As a Force we expect the highest standards of professional behaviour from all of our staff and take all allegations where those standards are not met very seriously.”
