BRADFORD has been hit with a battering of wintery weather.

The city and district has been covered in a thick blanket of snow throughout today, with a yellow weather warning issued yesterday.

It has taken on the appearance of an apocalyptic city, or a Winter Wonderland - your preference here depends very much on how much you love the snow and whether you're able to enjoy it today.

History has repeated itself, with Bradford experiencing similar snowy conditions at the end of last week.

But, this time, the chaos caused by the heavy snowfall has been much more widespread.

There have been countless images and videos shared on social media of vehicles struggling through snow as thick as the pavement, cars colliding into each other as they lose control on the icy surfaces and some people who have abandoned their mode of transport entirely.

More than 160 schools in Bradford were also forced to fully, or partially, closed today due to the weather.

Bus and train services have been cancelled, and medical professionals have even issued pleas for the public to help them get to urgent appointments.

But, many have been able to enjoy the more pleasurable aspects of the wintery weather.

Sledging, snowballing, snowmen, snowwomen, snow sculptures - you name it, Bradfordians are taking advantage of the snow as best they can in these unprecedented times.

Whatever your views on it, we've pulled together a gallery of some of the photos we've been sent and taken ourselves here at The Telegraph and Argus.
