A POLICE staff member has been charged with making an indecent image of a child.
Carl Hardcastle, who works for West Yorkshire Police, will appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court in two weeks, on Monday, January 25.
He is charged with making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child.
The Government's Home Office website states that a pseudo-photograph is an image made by computer-graphics, or otherwise, which appears to be a photograph.
Mr Hardcastle works in the Protective Services Crime department at the police.
The department is responsible for the investigation of serious and complex crime across West Yorkshire.
Mr Hardcastle is currently suspended from the force.
